Using OpenScores

OpenScores provides music, educational resources, activities, and optional account features. These terms describe the conditions for using them. If you do not accept these terms, do not use account or interactive features. Public resources remain available without an account where indicated.

If you are under 18, review these terms with a parent or guardian. Children under 13 must not create an account or send personal details through public forms; account creation is available only through an enabled parent-permission process. Parent-managed accounts cannot use social profiles.

Accounts and community

Keep your login secure and provide accurate age information. Do not impersonate another person, attempt to bypass age or access restrictions, share passwords, harass others, or submit unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, or sexually explicit material. Do not post private information about yourself or others.

Social profiles are public and restricted to eligible accounts aged 13+. Use only an earned badge as your profile picture. User-added links, shortened or disguised links, and contact details are not allowed in profiles. Teacher/Student tags do not establish professional credentials. OpenScores may remove prohibited content or limit features to protect users or service security. Contact us to ask about an account restriction.

Music and other materials

Permission to use music is governed by the Music Usage page and any license attached to a specific work. Free access does not transfer copyright or grant rights to third-party arrangements, recordings, photographs, or branding. Do not upload or submit material you do not have permission to share. Public-domain status and permissions can differ by country.

You retain rights in your own submitted text. You allow OpenScores to store, display, and process that text only as needed to provide and moderate the features you use, including the public profile you choose to create. Do not submit copyrighted sheet music or recordings through a contact form.

Educational tools and external services

Practice tools, scholarship listings, ratings, and automated assistant responses may contain errors. Confirm deadlines, eligibility, and other important details with the original source. These resources are educational information, not professional, legal, medical, financial, or emergency advice.

External websites and services have their own terms. OpenScores does not control their availability or content. Features may change or become unavailable; save a copy of work you need to keep.

Privacy, fundraising, and contact

The Privacy Policy explains data use, public profiles, storage, parent requests, and retention. Send privacy or account questions to openscoresmusic1@gmail.com.

Requests for money and donated supplies are paused while applicable fundraising requirements are reviewed. Do not send payments through the contact form. No tax-deductibility or charity-registration status is promised by these terms.

Report a copyright or photo-permission concern with the page address, the material involved, your connection to the rights, and a way to reply. Do not include a child’s identity documents. Material under review may be removed while permission is checked.

Updates to these terms will show a revised date here. Nothing here excludes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
